Ladies and gentlemen of the Internet, I give you… Kimi!

Kimi is the very first customer to have ever bought anything at Whimsy| Reason, and we couldn’t have asked for a better kickoff. She was such a good sport, and she did a great job of looking past our (okay, my) bumbling, nervous, oh-my-gosh-we’re-FINALLY-there excitement.

I’m sure right about now you’re thinking, Wait, the stores are open? How did I miss this??? (Or, you know, maybe not, because chances are you’re a bit less obsessed with this entire ordeal than I am, and you probably even manage to fall asleep at night without ideas for hanging racks racing through your head.)

No worries! We are not *technically* open right now. We’re just doing a very, very soft opening--like, puppies-eating-cotton-candy-on-velvet-covered-clouds soft. Not all of our merchandise is out on the floor at this point, and we still have to put tags on everything. And although this mystery-price setup still is indeed functional (witness: Kimi), it’s not ideal, as it necessitates the shopper’s having to ask me how much everything costs, and I know not everyone feels comfortable doing this.

We will officially open the beginning of next week, sometime around the 13th (but more likely the 14th, thanks to my ridiculous superstitious streak). In the meantime, if you happen to walk by and see us puttering around the building, you’re welcome to come in and browse. We’ll work around the lack of tags, you and I, and if you ask me how much an item is, I promise not to shrug and respond, How much you willin’ to give me?
